TVS has launched the Special Edition of their well-loved and popular bike, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE in Nepal. The other versions of the bike dominate in the 160cc engine segment with the features and power it provides.

The special edition showcases a fresh aesthetic and advanced modes, elevating the bike’s sleekness and overall performance.

Design

Even though the design is the same as the other Apache RTR 160 4V you can find a few key differences in the bike which makes it special. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE has a sharp and aggressive design. The headlights are all LED with LED DRL in the middle of the headlight. The indicators are halogen like the other versions. The bike’s frame is a Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff Frame.

The seat on the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE is dual-coloured and has a premium look which is followed by the tank with a racing tone. The fuel tank is 12 litres in capacity. The major difference is the design of the exhaust and its sound. The bike comes with a Bullpup exhaust design.

In contrast to other versions featuring a dual-outlet exhaust, the special edition presents a single-outlet, bulkier design. The exhaust note is notably bass-boosted, providing a distinctive rumbling sensation. Moreover, the new exhaust contributes to a weight reduction of approximately one kilogram compared to the standard version.

The tail lights are also LED while the indicators are halogen bulbs. The digital instrument cluster now has three modes you can choose from; Urban, Rain and Sport. The instrument cluster shows all the normal information too like the speed, distance to empty, fuel meter, rpm, time, temperature, modes and gear number along with lap time and trip meter. It is available in a matte black colour option which makes the bike look very clean and premium. The other white colour is not available in Nepal.

Performance

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE has a 159.7cc engine, equipped with fuel injection, and offers two power outputs: 12.91 kW (17.55 PS) at 9,250 rpm in Sport mode and 11.5 kW (15.64 PS) at 8,600 rpm in Urban/Rain modes. With a maximum torque of 14.73 Nm at 7,500 rpm in Sport mode and 14.14 Nm at 7,000 rpm in Urban/Rain modes, the power distribution is quite good along with its 4-valve engine setup ensures efficient fuel combustion and performance.

The introduction of three new riding modes—Urban, Rain, and Sport—alongside a 5-speed gearbox in the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE allows riders to adapt to different road conditions. The cooling system uses oil cooling with Ram Air Assist, which helps maintain optimal engine temperature. With a maximum speed of 114 km/h in Sport mode and 103 km/h in Urban/Rain modes, with a power-to-weight ratio of 0.088 kW/kg.

Tyres, Brakes and Suspension

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V SE front tyre is a 90/90-17 49P Tubeless, and the rear tyre is a 130/70 R17 M/C 62P Tubeless (Radial) providing stability during manoeuvres and modes. The braking system uses a 270 mm dia Petal Disc at the front and a 200 mm dia Petal Disc at the rear, using DOT 3/DOT 4 brake fluid. Its suspension setup includes Telescopic Forks at the front and a Mono-shock at the rear for a comfortable ride while absorbing bumps on various road surfaces.
